Hello,
I have been interested in railways since the late 1970's when my Dad took me off on trips all over the country. Eventually of course I wanted to take photos.
Over the years I have developed an extensive collection of photographs from all corners of the country.
In the past I have had a whole range of cameras from old Kodak compacts through to my much loved Practica Super TL 1000 and then an Olympus IS200 SLR.
I have gone digital now and initially used a Minolta DiMAGE Z2 camera. I currently use a fantastic Fuji Finepix S9500 camera. I also recently purchased a Fuji Finepix A610 compact camera which is very handy for work amongst other things.
That's the technical side sorted, now what about the real me. Read on if you're really all that bothered!:-
Railways
I am a modern image fan and really enjoyed the late 80's/early 90's on the railway. My favourite classes are anything English Electric although I also find Classes 24-27 and peaks excellent. I also like units but especially classes 110, 156 & 308.
I am a member of the Deltic Preservation Society, EM2 Locomotive Society, AC Locomotive Group and Shipley Model Railway Society. I go on many railtours and am still seeking out the last vestiges of loco-haulage in the British Isles.
I also like railway modelling and am an operator on Shipley MRS's Fylde North layout (see separate website link above).
I have worked on the railways since 2000 and I currently work for Northern Rail at Leeds.
Sport
I am massively into football and I support Bradford City. I also like Rugby League (proper Northern Sport) and obviously follow the Bradford Bulls. I watch Cricket mainly on TV but occasionally I'm forced to watch the odd game at Baildon Cricket club whilst having a pint. I also enjoy watching extreme sports, I admire the bravery of some of those dudes. I don't really play sports anymore (knackered body) but am under pressure to take up golf (how old do people think I am).
Music
I have a huge CD collection and amongst my favourite bands are The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Depeche Mode, Muse (absolutely amazing at Wembley Stadium on 17th June), Faithless, Bloc Party, The Music and the list goes on.
TV & Film
I generally watch what is left of decent British Television. Over the years I have particularly enjoyed watching Blackadder, Black Books, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, My Family, Waking the Dead, Shameless, League of Gentlemen, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Little Britain, Life on Mars and many more. I also watch anything with Billy Connolly in it (probably the funniest man alive).
I'm not a huge film buff but my favourites are The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian, Withnail & I, Shallow Grave & Trainspotting. I like some recent efforts like Shaun of the Dead & Hot Fuzz.
Other pastimes
I enjoy fell walking and can regularly be seen in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District or Highlands of Scotland during the summer months. I also like to quaff ales and wines in the finest establishments known to mankind. I have recently got the bug to see Eastern Europe having visited Krakow, Poland last year. This year I enjoyed a few days in Bratislava, Slovkia in mid May. I regularly spend time in Newquay and dabble in the surf with limited success.

This is a small insight into my world, do enjoy the photo's and all feedback is welcome.
Cheers
Phil
